#WhyGetActive: Changing Lives, Changing Communities

Here’s your opportunity to share what YOUR club, organization, or business is doing to make your part of the world more active.


The #WhyGetActive video contest is an opportunity for you to share the great work your club is doing, and compete for some bonus publicity and the opportunity to help an organization or charity in your community. The contest runs from March 21 - 
May 31and a winner will be announced the first week of June.  

In order to be entered into the contest, a video must:

  1. Answer the question “What are you doing to make the world more active?” 
  2. Include the hashtag #WhyGetActive in the video (either on something in the video or added during editing)
  3. Be submitted by a club or organization that is an IHRSA member in good standing 

 

How to Enter

  1. Create your video and upload to your club or organization’s YouTube channel
  2. Submit the link to IHRSA using the form below. Videos do not have to be in English, but if submitted in another language please include a written transcript in English. If you do not have access to an English speaker, you can use a translating application like Google Translate.
  3. Once your video is determined to meet the criteria above, you will be notified and it will be shared on IHRSA’s Youtube channel as part of our #WhyGetActive Playlist. 

 

How To Win

The winner of the contest is determined by the number of Youtube likes. Entrants will be encouraged to share and promote their videos using the hashtag #WhyGetActive. IHRSA will also promote the contest on its blog and social media, and will share each video one time on the blog and on twitter.

 

A prize will be awarded to the winner of each of the four following categories:

  • Large chains (20+ clubs)
  • Small chains (2 – 20 clubs)
  • Single clubs
  • Associate member organizations

 

The winner of each category will receive the following: 

  1. A donation of $500 to the local charity of your choosing
  2. A CBI feature on your club’s programs and/or initiatives 
  3. Inclusion in a press release announcing the winners
  4. An opportunity to share your knowledge on video and social marketing at an upcoming IHRSA event
